Constraining Pick Applet to show only Contact of the Account associated to SR - without Scripting

Post  Admin on Thu Jan 06, 2011 8:37 pm

In Service Request, when user opens Pick Applet for Contact, the pick applet should show only Contact of the Account as selected in the Service Request. If Account is not selected (or blank) in the Service Request, Contact Pick Applet should
Condition 1) show no records.
Condition 2) show all records.

How can you achieve this ?

Condition: Only Configuration is allowed and no scripting at all.

Approach 1:
Go to Service Request BC > Select Contact Last Name field > Pick Map > create a record > Field: Account Id, Picklist Field: Account Id, Constrain: TRUE

Make sure that Pick Map UpdOnlyIfNull does not have any entry. If there is no entry and when you open Pick Applet when Account is NULL, no value for contact will show.

But if Pick Map UpdOnlyIfNull has a record with Field=Account, all records will show when contact pick applet is opened when Account is NULL.

Approach 2:
Set Search Specification on the picklist as:

[Account Id] = IIF(GetProfileAttr("SRAcctID") = "", "NOTHING", GetProfileAttr("SRAcctID"))

Create a Action Sets for setting profile SRAcctID to [Account Id]

Create two Runtime Events 1) ChangeRecord on SR BC 2) SetFieldValue on SR BC (Field: Account) which calls the above Action Set.
